More detailed logistical information will be published closer to the event. Riders will also be informed of all other information including; packing lists, accommodation options, eating arrangements, etc. via email and/or SMS.
AFTERNOON RACE 19km
Day 1 is a 19-kilometre afternoon race. Starting at the Park Hotel, riders will have a neutral section for the first kilometre. Following a local riverside walking trail, riders will pass by the bottom of Saanen ski slope. A tar road section will take them towards Waldmatte Restaurant.
From there, riders will start the arduous climb up to the peak of Mount Eggli. Upon reaching the top, they will take the exciting schlitteln bahn (toboggan run) back down to the bottom where they will join up with the cross-country ski track (Holy Ground) which will lead them all the way back to the finish.
This is a UCI accredited event, Pro Riders will earn UCI points. The Marathon starts on the promenade in the town centre and follows a 60km/39km route comprising of tarred sections, technical climbs, single track and challenging yet fun downhills on the snow.
DOWNHILL ENDURANCE RACE 36KM
The downhill starts at the top of the Rinderberg Ski Lift, riders will descend on the Rinderberg Ski Piste at a rate of a 1,000m over 6km. After the downhill it is 9km back to Gstaad. This is a short, exciting and fast day.
